Newsletter for  May 2022   Please note any news or information for the newsletter to be passed on to Jan Bridle anytime; also if anyone has changed their email address or set up any new addresses could they please let Jan know. 

 Branch subs    Subscriptions for 2022 remain at £17 and are due now. Please support the branch by paying the £17 either by internet banking or cheque made out to REA Bournemouth.  For bank account details please contact John Cusack on 01202 517804 or by email. 

 

Branch meetings and monthly lunches  

The Saturday morning breakfast/brunch meeting continues to be popular with members attending and enjoying a variety of breakfasts from scrambled eggs on toast, to a full English. They will continue on the 2nd Saturday of each month starting at 10.30am. As before please let John Cusack know if you will attend the brunch so we can give the RBL an idea of numbers. 

This month the lunch will be on the 5th Tuesday, 31st May, so as not to be just after the annual lunch. This month’s menu is as follows. Please contact John Cusack to book your place and advise him of your menu. 

 

Main Course £7.50  Roast Chicken  -  Steak Pie  -  Scampi  -  Salmon -  Ploughmans - any Jacket Potato (£5)

 

Puddings £3 Ice-cream Sundae  -  Fresh Fruit Salad  -  Sticky Toffee Pudding -  Spotted Dick

 

AGM 2022

This will be on Saturday 14th of May following the brunch and starting at approximately 11.30, attendance at the breakfast beforehand is not compulsory.

Please do try to attend the AGM as this is the first one we have been able to hold since 2019. 

 

 Annual Lunch Saturday 21st May 2022 Arrive 12 noon (approx)

This will be at the same place as last year, the Ocean Beach Hotel, 32 East Overcliffe Drive Bournemouth, BH1 3AQ.  As last year, it will be subsidised with paid up members, wives and widows paying £6 and Guests £26.  

Please book with Maurice Pearson and pay him or John Cusack as soon as possible and by 7th May at the latest as menu choices must be in 2 weeks prior to the lunch.

Red Onion & Goats Cheese Tart, Mixed Leaf Salad (vegetarian) Salmon fishcake garnished with lemon and a parsley sauce

Roast Breast of Chicken, Chefs Pan Gravy

Roasted Fillet of Pollock, with Herb Mash and Crispy Capers

Roasted Vegetable Moussaka Mediterranean Vegetables, Provencal Tomato Sauce, Mornay Sauce (vegetarian option) 

Served with Roast potatoes, carrots and broccoli

Chef’s Berry and Apple Crumble with Creamy Custard

Chocolate Crème Pot, Chantilly Cream, Garnished Chocolate Strawberry  Fresh Fruit Salad
