Newsletter for  June 2022   Please note any news or information for the newsletter to be passed on to Jan Bridle anytime; also if anyone has changed their email address or set up any new addresses could they please let Jan know. 

 Branch subs    Subscriptions for 2022 remain at £17 and are due now. Please support the branch by paying the £17 either by internet banking or cheque made out to REA Bournemouth.  For bank account details please contact John Cusack by phone or by email, numbers above. 

 

Branch meetings and monthly lunches  

The Saturday morning breakfast/brunch meeting continues to be popular with members attending and enjoying a variety of breakfasts from scrambled eggs on toast, to a full English. They will continue on the 2nd Saturday of each month starting at 10.30am. As before please let John Cusack know if you will attend the brunch so we can give the RBL an idea of numbers. 

This month the lunch will be on Tuesday, 28^th June. This month’s menu is as follows. Please contact John Cusack to book your place and advise him of your menu. 

Main Course £7.50  Roast Pork  -  Steak & Kidney Pie  -  Scampi  -  Lasagne -  Chicken & Bacon Salad - any Jacket Potato (£5)

Puddings £3 Ice-cream Sundae  -  Fresh Fruit Salad  -  Steamed Strawberry Pudding -  Apple Pie

       ( Advanced notice – August’s lunch will be on the 30^th instead of the 23^rd and there will be no        Breakfast meeting or lunch in October. )

 

Message from Allan Grover

As from the 2022 AGM I am standing down as the branch president, I have taken this decision because Wendy has been very ill for the past 6 months and is still having treatment, also we lost our son just before Christmas so we have had a lot to deal with. I would like to thank all the friends we have made over the last 12 years. My first meeting I attended was the AGM2010 and we would like to thank all the friends we have made over the last 12 years and the committee members who I have worked with and who have been there to advise me in my early days. I hope the branch continues for many years to come.

AGM 2022

This was held on Saturday 14th of May and was attended by around 20 members and wives. The minutes from the last AGM in 2019 were read out and agreed on. The treasurer, John Cusack, advised us on the branch accounts and total funds.  Bob Perry stood down as Chairman due to work commitments and was thanked for all his hard work. Maurice Pearson was voted on as the new Chairman, and he will also continue as Social Secretary and Branch Standard Bearer. Bert Martin was appointed as the new Branch President with David Watts taking on the VicePresident’s role. However the post of secretary is still vacant, any volunteers?

 

Annual Lunch 2022

Held at the Ocean Beach Hotel it was attended by around fifty members, wives and guests.  Thanks go to Maurice and Gillian for all their hard work organising this occasion and to all those who attended to make it a most enjoyable afternoon. The food as usual was lovely, the service wonderful and the company exceptional.
