Newsletter for  February 2022  Sorry it’s such a short one this month. Please note any news or information for the newsletter to be passed on to Jan Bridle anytime; also if anyone has changed their email address or set up any new addresses could they please let Jan know. 

 

Branch subs    Subscriptions for 2022 remain at £17 and are due now. Please support the branch by paying the £17 either by internet banking or cheque made out to REA Bournemouth.  For bank account details please contact John Cusack on 01202 517804 or by email. 

 

Keith Butt

It is very sad to report the passing of Keith Butt, who died suddenly at the age of 85 in January. Keith was a long term member of Bournemouth REA. Our sincere condolences go to his son, Duncan, and to the rest of his family and friends. The funeral at Bournemouth Crematorium was attended by several Rea members who formed a guard of honour and Maurice Pearson paraded the branch standard. 

Branch meetings and monthly lunches     

The RBL at Ferndown has had their new floor laid in the main function hall in January, so the kitchen is now available again.  We are holding a Saturday morning breakfast meeting, followed by a short branch meeting, on the second Saturday of each month, starting at 10am, so that those still working can also attend. All being well (with no more covid restrictions) the first on will be on Saturday 12th February. The monthly lunches will continue as usual but will change to the 4^th Tuesday, 22^nd February. This month’s menu is as follows. Please contact John Cusack to book your place and advise him of your menu choices by Wednesday night of Feb 16th as he is away on holiday after that.
