Branch subs there are still a few people who have not paid their subs for 2020. The committee have decided that all members who have paid their subs in 2020 are exempt for 2021 to compensate for the lack of branch meetings and activities. Please support the branch by paying the outstanding amount of £17 either by internet banking or cheque made out to REA Bournemouth. For bank account details please contact John Cusack on 01202 517804 or by email.
Birthdays
This month we wish a very happy birthday to Arthur Dixon who will be 85 on the 2nd January.
Welfare
We have heard that Liz Proctor
fell and fractured her hip, but she has had a very successful replacement
surgery at Poole Hospital, and is making excellent progress of recovery. We
hope to see her and Ken at the lunch in January. Get well soon Liz xx
Remembrance Sunday
These have been well attended by
branch members. The Branch Wreaths were placed by Bob Perry in Poole and by
John Cusack in Bournemouth. Maurice
Pearson carried the Branch Standard at the service in Ferndown, and Bert and
Dot Martin placed a cross for Bob Hucklesby in Sturminster Marshall. Irene
Richards, daughter of the late Ted Young, attended a service at Sotogrande
Church in Spain and placed a wreath in memory of Ted.
Margaret Capel, widow of Gordon Capel
It is with sadness that we report
the passing of Margaret on 9th November and send our sincere
condolences to her family.
Branch meetings and monthly lunches
The RBL at Ferndown is now open for food part time and 20 members attended the first lunch on 16th November. It was so good to see everyone back at Ferndown and catch up with Zoe who runs the club and Lee who cooks so well for us.
The next Tuesday lunch is on 7th December and then on 4th January. Here is the menu for the 7th
Roast Chicken Breast, Roast Beef,
Salmon, Cottage Pie, Warm Chicken & Bacon Salad,
Lasagne, Any Jacket Potato (£5.00) Ice Cream Sunday, Apple Strudel, Raspberry & White Chocolate
Cheesecake, Sticky Toffee Pudding. Let John Cusack know asap if you are able to
attend and your menu choices.
The Christmas lunch is at
Ferndown RBL on Saturday 11th December. Menu choices should already
be in for this.
It is also proposed to hold a Saturday morning breakfast meeting, starting at 10am, so that those still working can also attend, please let us know if this is something you would like to attend.
