NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2020
Newsletter for ‘Keeping in Touch’ November 2020 Please
note any news or information for the newsletter to be passed on to Jan Bridle
anytime; also if anyone has changed their email address or set up a new
one could they please let Jan know.
Branch subs this
year they are reluctantly increased to £17 and are due to be paid to the
treasurer now if not already paid. Please send any cheques, made out to REA Bournemouth,
to the above address for John Cusack. Thank you to those who have already paid,
but there are still many members who have NOT paid their subs. We now have
internet banking so anybody wishing to pay on line just ring John or email him
on jfp.cusack@hotmail.com and he will give the details.
Branch Meetings we were hoping to resume Wednesday evening
meetings on 21st October but following guidance from REA HQ Chatham
and the new lock down this is no longer possible.
Branch Lunches
The lunches for November will not now take place due
to the new lock down measures. Many thanks go to Zoe and Lee and the team at
Ferndown RBL who have made so much effort into welcoming us back into a safe
environment when the last lock down came to an end and for doing such a good
job under such difficult conditions, and with such good humour!! We all want to wish the staff all the very
best over the next month.
Remembrance Day November 2020
Bob Perry was also due to take Bob Hucklesby to
Southampton on 18th November for the Return from Japan Memorial Service but of
course we can't do that either but Bob tells us that the Mayor of Southampton
will be laying a wreath to commemorate this event and that the BBC will be
filming it. John Griffiths laid one of the Branch wreaths at Ferndown RBL and
Bob Perry laid the other wreath at the Poole Park Memorial. Bert and Dot Martin
laid crosses at the Mountbatten Memorial in Poole Park.
