The Branch committee held a Zoom
meeting on November 10th 2020.
The pandemic, and its effect on the branch and the RBL club, was high on
the agenda. John Cusack has been in touch with Zoe and has been informed that,
although we paid the room hire for the first 6 months of 2020, we would not be
required to make any further payments for the time being.
Branch meetings and monthly
lunches.
We do not expect to resume branch activities until at
least March 2021. This is subject to confirmation and government guidelines and
restrictions at the time.
Branch subs
There are still
a few people who have not paid their subs for 2020. The committee have decided
that all members who have paid their subs this year are exempt for 2021 to
compensate for the lack of branch meetings and activities. Please support the
branch by paying the outstanding amount of £17 either by internet banking or
cheque made out to REA Bournemouth. For
bank account details please contact John Cusack.
There is still a sum of money in the banks which is
earmarked for a branch party or lunch which will be made available once we get
back to some form of normality.
Roy Robinson
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of
Roy Robinson, aged 89, at his care home in Salisbury on Sunday evening
29/11/20. Roy, along with his wife Carol
who died 3 years ago, was a regular attendee at Branch meetings and lunches and
was much missed when he went into the care home. Our sincere condolences go to his family. The
funeral will be in Eling, near Totton, on Tues 15th Dec at 1.15pm, and
there may be room for a few to attend if desired.
