Albert Graham Bennett
It is with much regret that we report the passing of Graham Bennett on the 18th of July 2018.
Our sincere sympathies are sent to his family at this very sad time.
The funeral took place at the Test valley Crematorium, Romsey, on Friday 10 August 2018.
The service was well attended by former members of the New Forest Branch as well as a good representation of the Bournemouth Branch.  The Standards of both the Bournemouth and Southampton Branches were also in attendance.
Graham joined the army as Boy Soldier at the Army Apprentices School, Taunton, and then
joined the Royal Engineers in 1951, as well as postings in the UK Graham served in Cyprus
and Bahrain.  At one time he was the youngest Sargent in the Corps, he later retrained as Shipwright which required him to rebadge to the REME.
Graham was a Life Member of the REA and was awarded The Gp Directors            Commendation
in recognition of his work on the Committee of the New Forest Branch.
Graham had recently transferred his REA membership to the Bournemouth Branch following
the closure of the New Forest Branch.
Birthdays of Note   This month we wish a very Happy Birthday to Phil Webster, who will be 85 on the 23rd August. We also take the opportunity to wish many congratulations to David and Jean Watts who celebrate their Diamond Wedding Anniversary on the 6th September.
