Newsletter for Branch meeting on 19^th September 2018 - Please note any information for the newsletter to be passed on to Jan Bridle by the last Saturday before the next meeting; also if anyone has changed their email address or set up a new one could they please let Jan know.

Branch subs   remain at £15 and are due to be paid to the treasurer now if not already paid. Please send any cheques, made out to REA Bournemouth, to the above address for John Cusack.

Next meeting on 17^th October  will be Bingo with Fish and Chips, Gwen will be collecting the money for this tonight.

Vacancies    A new Social Secretary is still required.

Monthly Informal Lunches

As usual held on the first Tuesday, menu lists on the table at evening meetings. Contact John Cusack for any information or to book/choose from menu if not at meeting.

Birthdays of Note This month we wish a Happy 55^th Birthday to Steven Maxwell on 24^th September and Happy Birthday to Ian Creasor who will be 75 on 10^th October.

John Friberg  It is with great regret that we report the passing of John on 27^th August at the Lewis Manning Hospice. Our sincere condolences go to his wife Peggy and his family. John was a long-time member of the branch and a life-long scout who was given many awards including the Heroes Award in 2008 and recently the Silver Wolf Award, the highest award in scouting, for his many years of volunteering with the scouting organisation.  His funeral was held on 13^th September and was well attended by his family, friends and many of his scouting colleagues and the guard of honour was provided by REA members. The coffin was draped and the standard was paraded by Aidan Byrne.

George Wilby   Also it is with regret we have to report the passing of George Wilby on 3^RD September 2018.  At the time of writing there are no further details but they will be passed on as soon as I have them.

 Roy Robinson is in Bournemouth hospital after having a couple of falls at home, no further information is available at the moment.

VJ Day 2018

This was attended by Bob Hucklesby and Bert and Dot Martin; the Mayor of Poole laid a wreath and Bob read the prayer.
