Christmas Lunch Friday 16th December
We are hoping to have our Xmas lunch
this year at the RBL Ferndown on Friday 16th December. The cost will be £35 for
2 courses, £38 for 3 courses. In order to be able to book this we require a minimum of 30 attendees.
Please let John Cusack know if you
would like to attend and the number of places you want as soon as possible, and
by the 5th November, at the very latest.
If we are able to arrange this, the
menu will be available shortly. We do hope you will be able to join us for this
very enjoyable occasion.
Remembrance Sunday 13th November
On this year’s Remembrance Sunday Memorial
Bob Perry will lay the REA wreath at Poole Park, and John Cusack will lay one
at Bournemouth. Maurice Pearson will
parade the branch Standard at Ferndown RBL in the morning and again at West
Moors in the afternoon. The Mayor of Poole has issued an invitation to the
members of REA to join the parade at Poole Park. Those wishing to do this
should assemble in the park opposite the cricket pavilion by 10am, or at the
memorial by 10.45am if just wanting to attend the service which will commence
at 10.50am.
Welfare
I spoke to Anne Webster last week and they are getting on
ok but Phil is not so well and has had to give up driving.
I have been able to speak to some of the branch’s widows by telephone this week and report that most seem to be coping quite well. However many of the telephone numbers are now out of use, and we have no way of contacting them.
