Branch subs    there are still a few people who have not paid their subs for 2020. The committee have decided that all members who have paid their subs in 2020 are exempt for 2021 to compensate for the lack of branch meetings and activities. Please support the branch by paying the outstanding amount of £17 either by internet banking or cheque made out to REA Bournemouth.  For bank account details please contact John Cusack by email.

Branch meetings and monthly lunches

The next gathering/meeting at Winton RBL is Wednesday August 18th.   The full address is 593 Wimborne Road Winton, Bournemouth BH9 2AR (next door to the Police Station). There are some parking spaces there but if you are able to walk please park in the adjoining side streets. We are still looking for ideas for lunch venues that could take bookings of up to around 20 in a central area, the Angel Inn, Ferndown is one suggestion, are there any more suggestions?

Birthdays  This month we wish a very happy birthday to our Treasurer, John Cusack who will be 75 on the 10th September.

Bob Hucklesby’s family have finally been able to organise a date and venue for Bob’s

Celebration. The date is Tuesday 31 August 2021 and the venue is The Orangery, Merley House, near Wimborne Dorset BH21 3AA for an afternoon tea. It is just off the A31 at the roundabout for

Poole etc. which is between Canford Bottom traffic lights and Julians Bridge roundabout into Wimborne. It is well signposted.  His family do need confirmed numbers of attendees and of course their names and would appreciate them as soon as possible so that the catering can be organised for the afternoon tea.

If you are unable to email please telephone any of the committee who will pass your names on.

Annual Lunch 2021

The Annual Lunch at the Ocean Beach Hotel in Bournemouth is now booked for Saturday 30th of October.  The cost this year for the three course lunch with coffee will be subsidised by the branch as we have had some very kind donations for this purpose. The cost for members, their wives, and widows of former members will be £5 only. For non-members and guests the cost will be an estimated £25, although we hope to reduce this by a pound or two. Please can you indicate your intention to attend as soon as possible to Maurice Pearson who is very kindly organising this.
