75th Anniversary of V.J.
Day 15th August 2020
A
celebration of this event will take place in Poole Park ,
at the Mountbatten Memorial, 10:45 for 11am on Saturday 15th August.
The Mayor of Poole will lead the ceremony, however, due to covid19
restrictions, only 30 people may attend.
If there is anyone who believes they should be at the main ceremony
please contact the Mayor’s secretary, Carolyn Souter, or email her
If
anyone really wishes to attend, who is not on the Mayor’s list, you may stand
at a distance from the main ceremony while maintaining social distancing at all
times. There is very limited parking
available in the park so allow plenty of time to walk through from outside the
park.
Far Eastern Prisoners Of War Prayer
And we that are left grow old with the years
Remembering the heartache, the pain and the tears
Hoping and praying that never again
Men will sink to such sorrow and shame
The price that was paid we will always remember
Every day, every month, not just in November
We Shall Remember Them

safety measures in place for us. Please let us know how many of you are likely
to attend these meetings/lunches.

need to close again to let the schools return although I hope this will not be
the case.
Social
