NEWSLETTER APRIL 2020

MEETINGS AND LUNCHES ARE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
*** THE BRANCH SENDS GOOD WISHES TO ALL OUR MEMBERS***
PLEASE STAY SAFE AND KEEP IN TOUCH

Newsletter for ‘Keeping in Touch’ April 2020 - Please note any information for the newsletter to be passed on to Jan Bridle anytime; also if anyone has changed their email address or set up a new one could they please let Jan know.

Branch subs   This year they are reluctantly increased to £17 and are due to be paid to the treasurer now if not already paid. Please send any cheques, made out to REA Bournemouth, to the above address for John Cusack. Anybody wishing to pay on line just ring John or email him on jfp.cusack@hotmail.com and he will give the details.  At the end of the day we have to carry on the best way we can and we still have to pay the room hire as we do not want the club to go under.

Secretary
John Griffiths has kindly taken up this post again for us. Thank you John.

Welfare
Maurice Pearson has kindly offered EMERGENCY plumbing, electrical or building problems that members are in need of help with, but only things that need to be done in order to survive at home.
Other members are also willing to collect groceries, prescriptions, phone you for a chat etc. If you need any help please contact our Chairman, Bob Perry, who sent this message:-
‘Let's all look out for each other through phone calls and if anyone needs help with anything like shopping or prescriptions let me know and I feel sure that collectively we can come up with a solution. Hope we will all meet up before the summer ends on the other side of this. Take care everyone,   Bob Perry’

Social
John Cusack had a call from Alister, our In Pensioner at RCH. He is keeping well and is his usual, full of cheeky humour. Gave Val plenty of that. They have to stay in their quarters as you would expect. He is looking forward to seeing any of us who will attend the annual dinner and Sapper Sunday in Oct. Founders Day at RCH is in doubt.
Dot Martin has been keeping in touch by phone with Roy Robinson in his care home in Salisbury. At the moment all the residents are confined to their rooms so he would appreciate it if anyone could ring him for a chat. His phone no is 07562391894. He wishes to be remembered to you all.
From Ted Young’s daughter Irene who now lives in Spain - Thank you for the newsletter.  Lovely photo of Hazel, give her our love.  As you will have heard we are in lockdown and only allowed to go to supermarket, chemist and Doctors.
We say hello to Steve Neville, an ex branch member who moved to Wales, and now lives in  Cwmystwyth, the geographical centre of Wales. He lives in a small holding, 400 metres above sea level with wonderful views and enjoys receiving our newsletters and quizzes.
