NEWSLETTER - March 2015. Branch Meeting Wednesday 18^th.

WELFARE.

Arthur Hardiman Is in Poole Hospital and hopefully feeling much better by now..

Our good wishes go to him and any Member or Lady who may be unwell at this time;

BIRTHDAY OF NOTE.

John Amphlett, Will celebrate his 45^th Birthday on 13^th April. We wish him   "Good Health and Many happy returns of the day"

BRANCH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

This will take place tonight.   At this Meeting the election of  officers will take place, nominations are required.   The post of Treasurer is to be up for election.  Also Social Secretary Post  needs to be filled. Peter Piggott is to stand down after the Annual Lunch which is to take place on

9^th May.    They were reported in last month's Newsletter.   Both very important positions which must be filled if our Branch is going to carry on as present.   Please consider taking on one of these important jobs.  Also at this Meeting the Branch accounts will be presented, copies of which were attached to Newsletter in February.    

Without these two vital Committee Members the branch will not be able to function as it is.

ENTERTAINMENT. 

At our meeting to be held on Wednesday 15^th April we look forward to greeting one of our regular visitors, Jacky Smith.    The subject this time,  "The West Country".

QUIZ  WITH SUPPER

Our meeting on 20^th MAY will be our QUIZ NIGHT, with FISH/ CHICKEN & CHIP SUPPER with VEGETARIAN OPTION.     John Griffiths is now responsible for the bookings and monies.   He has made the following arrangements:     The Cost of all food is to be £4.70 Per person.  This must be booked and paid for in advance.   You will be able select your food and pay at meetings tonight and In April.

SOUTH WEST GROUP ANNUAL STANDARD BEARERS RALLY

Will be held on Sunday 17^th May at Swinton Barracks, Pernham Down, (Tidworth)  22 Engineer Regiment. A lunch with wine will be provided at cost.  No further details yet received from Group.

Last years timings for the event was 10 30 Hrs Arrival (Tea/Coffee).     15 30 Hrs. Depart.

MANY THANKS.

Go to Geoff Lord who tonight leaves the committee after being Branch Treasurer for many years, not forgetting his right hand Lady Sheila.   They have done a first class job looking after all the Branch finances.   Let us not forget our Social Secretary who stands down after our Annual Lunch in May.     More on this, after the event..

 

 INFORMAL  LUNCHES.

The next lunch will be held on Tuesday 7^th April at FERNDOWN, ROYAL BRITISH LEGION CLUB.   Our monthly lunches are  held at  FERNDOWN on the First Tuesday of each month.   The May lunch has been arranged for Tuesday 5^th.

Lists on the table tonight.  Don’t forget that if you are unable to attend meetings and would like to go to our lunches do contact  Mike Herbert  01202674612

Please let Mike know before Noon on the Sunday before the Lunch  if you need to cancel as this assists the caterers with food and seating.

BRANCH ANNUAL LUNCH. 

This will take place on Saturday 9^th  May 12 Noon for 1P.M. at the Cumberland Hotel, West Cliff, Bournemouth.   The cost will be £17.00 for Members Ladies and Guests.   The menu and food choices were distributed with the Newsletter in January.      Please provide all written names and numbered menu choices, including payment to : Peter Piggott,  ( Please make sure that each diner has an individual Menu choice listed).    There are a few menus and food choice forms available if you should need one.   If you would like to donate any raffle prizes the Social Secretary will be pleased to receive them. Please let him have them well in advance of the lunch.

Final date for bookings and payment is  1^st April
