Many happy returns go to  President Geoff Smith who will be 75 on 14^th July.

ENTERTAINMENT.

Tonight's meeting is a talk all about the R.N.L.I

IMPORTANT NOTICE.

Our entertainment on Wednesday 17^th July will be a Skittles Evening. The meal will be a Ploughman’s Supper at a cost of £2.50.   Names and Money will be collected tonight.

All food must be ordered and paid for in advance.

BRANCH INFORMAL LUNCHES.

The next of these lunches will be held  on Thursday 4^th July at POOLE EX- SERVICEMEN'S CLUB.   Also in July on Tuesday the 23^rd our visit for lunch at The GURKHA RESTAURANT, SANDFORD is booked.  

The August lunch is to take place at the ROYAL BRITISH LEGION CLUB, FERNDOWN, on Tuesday 6^th.   Lists on the table tonight. Don’t forget that if you are unable to attend meetings and would like to go to our lunches do contact Peter Piggott.  Please let Peter know if you need to cancel as this assists the caterers with food preparation.

It is important that all  bookings are made in advance, to avoid problems such as altering seating, and preparing sufficient food. 

SOUTH WEST GROUP ANNUAL STANDARD BEARERS RALLY

Held on Sunday 26^th May.        The Branch was represented by 7 Members and 7 Ladies.

Bert Martin paraded our Standard prior to the competition which was won by Reg Cushion of the Andover and Winchester Branch, who  will now take part in the finals in September at Chatham.

REA SOUTH WEST GROUP ANNUAL BARBEQUE JULY 2013

This will be held on Sunday 28^th July, at Swinton Barracks, Pernham Down, (Near Tidworth).

Major M Horner RE, Officer Commanding, Rear Operations Group, 22 Engineer Regiment has kindly agreed to host the event in the WOs' and Sgts' Mess. 

The timings are as follows-

Arrive 1100hrs.   1130hrs Bar opens.  1200 hrs Director Arrives.

1300 hrs BBQ served.  1500 hrs Raffle and brief by Director.  1600hrs Bar closes.

1630hrs Disperse.    It is intended to put on some military stands for interest by the Squadrons in 22 Engineer Regiment, to show modern weapon systems, diving equipment and experiences

of recent operations in Afghanistan.  The personal contribution to the cost of the BBQ will be: £10. 00 per person.  All Names, Vehicle Details and Monies Tonight or to Secretary by Wednesday July 3^rd at Very latest.   Cheques made payable to:  R.E.A. Bournemouth Branch.

Short notice caused by this information not being received from group in time for Newsletter in May.

THE ALBERT HICKS MEMORIAL AWARD 2013

This award will be delayed until 22, Engineer regiment return from their overseas  commitments later this year.

CORPS MEMORIAL WEEKEND.

This takes place on 13^th-15^th September 2013 in Chatham, This will include Beating Retreat on  Saturday afternoon.  As well as official Corps Memorial Weekend events. Accommodation is in Kitchener at nil cost, Meals are as follows: Breakfast, £4.20. Lunch, £4.55. Dinner, £5.18. Pay As You Dine. Names to Secretary by June meeting at the latest.

ADVANCE NOTICE.

The September Meeting will be Fish/Chicken and Chips accompanied by Bingo.   Moneys  and food choices will be collected at  July and August Meetings.   The cost will be £4.00 per head and must be paid in advance along with food selection.
