Branch subs 

Subscriptions for 2024 will be £20. This is the first rise in many years and they are due now. Please support the branch by paying the £20 either by internet banking or cheque made out to REA Bournemouth. For bank account details please contact John Cusack by phone or byemail,

Branch monthly Lunches and Brunches

These are informal, social meetings where any news etc. can be passed on to those attending, and added to the newsletter for others to read.The brunches are held at the Barrington Centre Café in Penny's Walk, Ferndown BH22 9TH -Wives and children and guests are also very welcome. This is also now open to all service and exservice personnel. You can park in Tesco’s car park free and the centre is just past Tesco’s on theother side of Penny’s Walk, and this month it is on Saturday the 13th July.The lunches are also held at the Barrington Centre Café, and will be on Tuesday the 23rd July. Aswith the brunches, wives and children and guests also welcome. There are, however, not thechoices we had at the RBL and this months’ lunch choices will be notified later at a cost of only £7a head. Please contact John Cusack or Maurice Pearson to book your place.

Birthdays of Note

This month we wish a very Happy Birthday to Andy Jennings who will be 70 towards the end of July.

REA Patron

Please note that His Majesty King Charles III has now agreed to be our new patron following the passing of his mother Queen Elizabeth II

Branch News and Messages

Congratulations to John McDermott who completed the 10km London to Brighton run, raising money for Gully’s Place, in memory of his young son Alfie who passed away from Asthma.

Richard Mantle 

Very sadly Richard passed away on the 2nd June at the age of 95. Along with his wife Val, Richard was a staunch, long standing member of the branch and will be sorely missed by all. The funeral was held at Poole Crematorium on 20th June and was attended by many family members and friends. The Branch Standard was paraded by John Cusack and there was a Guard of Honour, which was much appreciated by Richard’s family.

D Day 80th Anniversary celebrations

Celebrations were held all over the south. Maurice Pearson paraded the Branch Standard at the celebrations in Ferndown, and Peter Bridle laid the Branch wreath at the celebration on Poole Quay’

Annual Lunch 2024

This year’s lunch was very much enjoyed by all who attended, thanks to Maurice and Gill for all their hard work.
