These are informal, social meetings where any news etc. can be passed on to those attending, and added to the newsletter for others to read.

The brunches are now held at the Barrington Centre Café in Penny's Walk, Ferndown BH22 9TH - Wives and children and guests are also very welcome. You can park in Tesco’s car park free and the centre is just past Tesco’s on the other side of Penny’s Walk, and this month it is on Saturday the 9th September.

The lunch will be on Tuesday the 26th September. As with the brunches, wives and children and guests also welcome. We do not have the lunch menu at this time but I will email this out to you all as soon as it is available.  Please contact John Cusack to book your place and advise him of your menu choices.   Those with posted newsletters will be able to ring John Cusack for the menu details later on.

Branch News and Messages

Welcome to Gordon who joined us for lunch in August. Also welcome back to Richard and Val who have been unable attend recently due to injury.

Our best wishes for a successful fundraise go to our former chairman, Bob Perry, who was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer back in 2015. He joined the London to Paris Bike Ride on

Friday August 25, in  aid of raising funds for research into a rare type of non-Hodgkins’ lymphoma

- Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinaemia (WM).   Every year WMUK supports 1,500 patients and

their family members, ensuring they have the information and support they need to live well with this rare but debilitating condition.  Bob's children, Lauren Reading, 43, and Joe Perry, 39, are also showing support for their dad by joining in the race.  A fundraiser for the cycling event has already surpassed £40,000 donations out of the targeted £50,000.   Donations can be made to Bob's fundraiser on his JustGiving page - Wheels for Waldenstrom's - London to Paris Bike Ride.
