Breakfast Club
A breakfast club is held for any ex-serviceman (and family) on a fortnightly basis. This is held every other Saturday at 10am at the Iford Bridge Pub, Old Bridge Road, Bournemouth BH6 5RG. We are told this is a very friendly occasion. Ring pub on 01202 483387 to check which Saturday.

Priority NHS Treatment for Veterans A reminder to all ex-servicemen that there is a government scheme for ex service personnel which gives them a ‘fast track’ service for NHS doctor’s appointments etc. You can access this by registering as a veteran with your doctor’s surgery. Take your army book or discharge papers to show them, and they will mark your records as a Veteran. Telling the GP practice about your veteran status will trigger the transfer of your full medical documentation from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to your GP.  All surgeries should know about this, but if not tell them to look on the NHS website.

Remembrance Day  WW1 100th Anniversary 1918 – 2018
The memorial services in all areas were extremely well attended as it was such a significant anniversary. John Griffiths paraded in Ferndown where Aidan Byrne paraded the Branch Standard.  Peter Piggott laid the Branch Wreath at Poole Memorial Service which was also attended by Bert Martin and Peter Bridle. Aiden Byrne’s son, Paul, laid the Branch Wreath at Bournemouth. Meanwhile in Gibraltar Irene and Paul Richards laid a wreath in honour of Irene’s father Ted Young.
